Chongqing University

Chongqing University (CQU), founded in 1929 and located in Chongqing, Southwest China, is a key national university and a member of the “Excellence League,” fully supported under China’s “211 Project” and “985 Project.” The university comprises six faculties and 35 schools, offering a comprehensive range of programs including 96 undergraduate, 236 postgraduate, and 121 doctoral programs, with particular strengths in Built Environment, Engineering, Technology, and Business. CQU hosts 22 state key subjects, numerous national and provincial key laboratories, and serves a diverse academic community of about 50,000 students, including over 1,600 international students from 129 countries, supported by more than 5,300 faculty and staff. With extensive global partnerships across over 20 countries, collaborations with leading international corporations, and three Confucius Institutes abroad, Chongqing University is a major hub for education, research, and international cooperation, spanning four campuses across approximately 178 hectares.

Chongqing Municipal Government Mayor Scholarship for International Students

• Established to encourage outstanding international students to pursue degree programs in Chongqing

Coverage

• Master’s degree students: 30,000 RMB per academic year per person

• Doctoral degree students: 35,000 RMB per academic year per person

Scholarship is awarded monthly as a living stipend

Chongqing University provides a tuition fee waiver

Other expenses, including accommodation, are borne by the recipients
